Especially Charlie when he said the Bishop was talking out of both sides of his mouth. I so hope this helps - but with his image of himself as doing the right thing for the “minority”” opinion certainly gives me no hope of his changing his mind. Are there ways to make that happen? I am 73 years old and indignant at this “Christian” behavior.

From: carole sergent <carolesergent@icloud.com>
Date: December 6, 2015 at 12:14:10 PM CST
To: info@edtn.org
Subject: For the bishop

Dear john. And yet you take it upon yourself to say after reflection study and prayer and in the minority you had the right to stand for that minority. A voice for them. Was I hearing badly? How on earth were you "persuaded" to come to this decision. Obviously you heard what your major congregation felt. Your cathedral. And you have the audacity to suggest our members head to Kentucky to be married. You insulted our intelligence, John. Even the pope said who am I to judge. I feel maybe your position has changed you into believing what you do is always right. I thought better of you. And am deeply sorry that you have " persuaded" yourself you are doing the right thing. Carole Sergent. I have instructed the clergy to withhold any funds from my increased pledge to the diocese. Please pray and reflect on that.

Sent from my iPhone
