Thank you, Hal, for sharing. The letter I delivered to the Bishop's office
was after time, thought, silence, and prayer. I am grateful that in many
challenging and extremely difficult conversations/disagreements I am often
able to respond from a place of strength and reason, compassion and
passion, when I take the time to try to understand another's view. Diane
Nash is, for me, in that cloud of witness with Moses, Jesus, Martin Luther
King, Jr., Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa as examples of meekness and
steadfast strength of voice.

I hope many of us will raise our voice, not to shout, but to help the
Bishop and one another hear what we have to say on behalf of ourselves, our
friends, our families and the families of our friends. Love helps us all to
heal; may we love one another through our differences and our efforts to
work for inclusiveness in every aspect of our lives in our faith families
and in the world.

Peace and gratitude to this circle of voices of compassion and faith and
love,
